A wise man once said, “Emotional wellness is the cornerstone of health and happiness.” And nothing rings truer! When dealing with stress, anxiety, and other emotional blockages, it’s crucial to have tools to release them. One such tool offered by alternative healing practices is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). This blog post offers a step-by-step guide on employing EFT to unlock your emotional blockages and manifest wellness.
Step 1: Understand the Concept
Before diving in, you need to grasp what Emotional Freedom Technique is. Essentially, it’s a healing practice designed to balance your energy system. The technique is simple: you tap on specific points on your body while focusing on the problem you want to resolve. Remember, EFT is based on ancient Chinese acupuncture wisdom but minus the needles! Now, let’s walk down this path.
Step 2: Identify the Issue
The first real step of applying EFT is recognizing your issue. Be specific! Instead of stating “I’m stressed,” reflect deeper and identify why – “I’m stressed because of spiralling work pressures” or “an upcoming presentation.”
Step 3: Establish a Reminder Phrase
Formulate a simple but embodied reminder phrase related to your issue. For example, if you’re anxious about an impending talk you have to give, your phrase could be “This presentation anxiety.”
Step 4: Measure Intensity Level
On a scale of 1-10 (10 being highest), estimate the intensity level for your particular issue. This self-assessment aids in tracking your progress as you work through your EFT session.
Step 5: Begin Tapping The Karate Chop Point
This point lies on the side of your hand between the base of your pinky finger and wrist. Repeat affirmation like “Even though I feel [insert issue], I deeply and completely accept myself.” Tap this point seven to ten times; it’s your setup statement on the road to emotional freedom.
Step 6: Tap on the Rest of the EFT Points
While repeating your statement, systematically tap the remaining points in the EFT sequence – top of head, eyebrow, side of eye, under eye, under nose, chin, collarbone and underarm. Aim for approximately 7 taps per point.
Step 7: Evaluate Intensity and Repeat If Necessary
After going through one round of tapping all points, reassess your emotional intensity level. If it has significantly reduced or disappeared altogether – well done! If it hasn’t moved as much as you’d like – don’t worry! Sometimes issues are more ingrained and require multiple rounds of tapping. Simply repeat Steps 5-6 until you begin to feel relief.
Step 8: Practice Consistency
EFT is a process and not a one-time miracle cure. Make sure to do this consistently for lasting benefits.
Remember that everyone’s journey with EFT is unique and so results can vary. Be patient with yourself as you’re learning a new technique. Embrace EFT as another tool in your self-care toolbox that supports emotional wellness – one tap at a time!
Now with this guide at hand and an open mind, embark more confidently on your self-discovery journey towards emotional freedom!
